Here we go, Your Lydney RFC match squads going into match week 3 of the season.

Lydney 1st XV will be making the short trip to Red Well Rd for a local derby as we take on Matson RFC. Few changes from last weekends win vs St Austell, Ben Jones will be making his 1st XV senior Debut on wing, George Knowles will be making his Debut on the bench along side Jake Hanley who re joins the club (Welcome back Jake) Well done to all the Debutants

The United are back home this weekend, We welcome Frampton Cotterell 1st XV to Regentsholme, Both sides will be going into the game with impressive wins last weekend. The United beating Chipping Sodbury Away 25-54 & Frampton beating St Mary’s Old boys 22-14. Drive on Lyd.

George Knowles, a Hooker who will be joining the club on a dual registration from Gloucester RFC.
Former old boy and versatile back, Jake Hanley has rejoined the club from Taunton RFC. Both go in to the 18 for Saturdays trip to Matson.
Director of Rugby, Sam Arnott, commented that “Both lads have come in this week and have done really well. They both strengthen us in areas where we are already strong, so that’s a huge positive for me.
Competition for places at the moment is as strong as it has been for a while, which massively benefits the environment and the individual”.
