Lydney RFC United Head coach update.

The club can confirm that Head Coach John Barker has stepped down with immediate effect, for work reasons.

John spearheaded the Uniteds promotion campaign last season, and has helped some of our young promising players on their pathway to senior rugby.

Joe Hamlin (who’s currently out for 12 months with an ACL reconstruction), is the man to step into the vacant role.

Director of Rugby Sam Arnott – “ I would like to thank John for all his efforts. The turn around for the United was hugely important last season, and the promotion achieved was the cherry on top. He leaves huge shoes to fill.

But with Joe coming in, we feel he has the knowledge, personality and respect of the changing room to carry on the task in hand. He’s been at the club a long time now, and is highly regarded be everyone at the club”.
