As many of our members, supporters and visitors are aware the Bledisloe Room at Lydney RFC Clubhouse was devastated in the flooding back in the winter. Being in a flood risk area the Club has been looking at ideas to help protect from future flooding. As everyone will understand this comes at a cost but thanks to kind help from the Severn Trent Community Fund it has resulted in us to undertake a complete refurbishment to protect against future flooding. The room has been recently completed and now fully open for use, it now looks stunning thanks to the hard work of local volunteers who completed the refurbishment.
Chairman Duncan Sleeman commented ‘Thanks to this vital grant and with incredible dedication of our volunteers we were able to complete the project on budget and to an extremely high standard. The Bledisloe room now looks amazing and is far better protected against future flooding. We are so grateful to Severn Trent, the hard work and commitment from local community volunteers to make us incredibly proud of what they accomplished.’
