Based at Plusterwine House in Woolaston, Wiliam, Katie and Patricia Hunt are a third-generation farming family who have a passion in helping the local community particularly youth projects.
Alongside their arable and beef farm they run Plusterwine Biogas which is a renewable energy business creating energy from Cow manure, Chicken manure and silage in a process called Anaerobic Digestion. This involves the break down of organic matter to produce Biogas. This renewable energy is fed into the National Grid to power 2,500 homes.
The family are excited to be launching their new venture, Hunts Premium Beef, selling home reared Aberdeen Angus and Wagyu beef directly to the public and chefs via an online website. For order enquiries or more info please email enquiries@huntspb.co.uk
From their business the Hunt family wanted to put something back into the local community and have kindly selected to support Lydney RFC. This support enables the Club to provide facilities for the local community and for the youth of the Forest with its rugby set up. This help enables the Club to run teams across all age groups including some female sides from mini to Senior levels. The newly extended Changing room area and a refurbished Clubhouse following the flood in 2024 can be used by all in the community for a wide range of events. Lydney RFC Chairman Duncan Sleeman added ‘The Hunt family have a real passion to support the local community and we are grateful for their help in supporting youth sports both now and for future generations to come.’
