”Sadly Saturday’s win and promotion will be my last game in charge. Holding the position as director of rugby at this historic club has been my proudest moment in rugby but ultimately where I live would prove too much of a challenge moving forward for both me and the club. The test now is for the club to use this season as a springboard for better things and not be satisfied with where they are at. Lydney and its people should be a national league club in my view and I thank everyone including the supporters and in particular, my staff whose loyalty and support was unwavering. Lydney will be a part of me for the rest of my days and I genuinely hope the club succeeds and moves quickly on the next appointment. Enjoy the offseason… drive on Lyd”.
