Following the senior match the crowd were further entertained by Lydney Colts playing Dowlais Colts. This is the first Colts team Lydney have been able to field for many years and hopefully some will progress to the senior sides in the coming seasons.
The game proved to be very entertaining with plenty of running rugby from both sides. The home side got good support from the Crowd and really got stuck into the larger team fielded by the visitors. Lydney scored some good try’s through Harris, Roberts, Holder, Coe, Curtis and Green all crossing the whitewash. Dowlais made it a very close and entertaining game with 5 tries of their own but it was the Severnsiders Colts who ran out winners 34 – 24.
