Lydney RFC announce new Coach.
Lydney RFC are delighted to announce Reece Boughton will join the coaching team for the 2026/7 season. Reece will become the backs coach and join Nick Bartlett the forwards coach with Paul Morris becoming the Director of Rugby at the end of the season, writes Roger Pike.
Boughton a 30-year-old outside half will bring a wealth of experience to the coaching setup. He has played for Gloucester, Matson, Chinnor, Cinderford and is currently playing at Bridgnorth. Broughton commented ‘Lydney already have a talented group of players to work with, and we will be looking to bolster the squad further to start next season. I am thrilled to join such an historic Club with a very passionate Supporter base, I cannot wait to get started with the coaching team in the summer.’
Director of Rugby for 2026/7 Paul Morris commented ‘Reece was the outstanding candidate, meeting all the requirements we had set, and we are delighted he has accepted the position. He has excellent communication skills combined with huge playing experience and is sure to be liked by both players and supporters.’
Chairman Duncan Sleeman added ‘Great to already have our Coaches confirmed for next season, Reece is sure to get the full support from everyone at the Club, we welcome him to Regentsholme and wish him well in the role next season.’
